Honey, Orange, and Sriracha Glazed Chicken Thighs

Honey, Orange, and Sriracha Glazed Chicken Thighs

Honey, Orange, and Sriracha Glazed Chicken Thighs

There are days when I come home from work, and I have absolutely no idea what to make. I had some chicken thighs defrosted, and a hankering for something sweet and spicy, and I thought honey and Sriracha would be a really nice mix.

Feel free to play with the flavours. I wrote the recipe to be fairly mild, but ended up adding another 1/2 tbsp to the sauce mix, which made the sauce itself pretty spicy, but the finished chicken was delicious and juicy with a slight hint of spice.

  • 4 skin on, bone in chicken thighs
  • sea salt and fresh cracked pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
  • 4 tbsp fresh squeezed orange juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • small bunch of fresh thyme, leaves picked

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Liberally season both sides of the chicken thighs with salt and pepper and set aside in an oven safe baking dish.
In a separate bowl, combine the honey, sriracha, orange juice, olive oil, and picked thyme leaves and stir until thoroughly mixed. Arrange the chicken thighs in the dish and spoon 1/2 of the mixture on top of the chicken thighs.

Bake for 25 minutes, and remove from the oven. Spoon the remaining honey sriracha sauce over the thighs and bake for an additional 20 minutes or until the juices run clear.

Serve with rice and a lovely salad.

P.S. I have added this to my meal planner for this evening – will have to change the citrus because hubby doesn’t like orange at all – but I’m sure its going to be good!!

This recipe is awesome! They didn’t quite look done enough for me after 25 minutes so I upped the oven to Broil and did both sides about 3 more minutes under the broiler….crispy and very, very tasty! Thanks!

Thanks for posting this! I love Siracha and was looking around for a good glaze that incorporated it. I will be making a mix of thighs with this and the Orange Maple Glaze you posted last Feb.

I have made this recipe at least a dozen times, and I wanted to say thank you for sharing it and widening my dinner ouvre. I usually double the amount of honey and add a tbsp of lime juice, both to counteract the spiciness of the sriracha and cut the sweetness of the honey. And I serve the chicken over basmati or jasmine rice and everyone goes home happy.

I also got this recipe from Google images, because it is the most scrumptious-looking dish under “chicken thighs”. Good news! I just made it and tastes as good as it looks (and I was worried because there was no skin to ‘crisp’ on the chicken thighs. It wasn’t necessary – the sauce does it all ). A jem of a recipe.
